Sharey

Terms of Service

As-Is Disclaimer

Sharey is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. No guarantee of uptime, availability, or data retention.

User Responsibility & Indemnity

You are solely responsible for all content you upload or share. You must have the legal right to distribute it. You agree to hold ComputerTech harmless and indemnify ComputerTech against any claims, damages, legal costs, and attorney fees arising from your use of the service, your content, or any violation of these terms.

Acceptable Use

Do not upload or link to illegal content, malware, spam, or material that infringes copyright or applicable law. Violations may be reported and will be acted on.

Moderation

ComputerTech may remove any content and suspend any account or IP address at any time, for any reason, without notice.

DMCA & Copyright

Sharey respects intellectual property rights and responds to valid DMCA takedown notices. ComputerTech maintains a Repeat Infringer Policy: users who repeatedly upload infringing material may have access terminated.

To report infringement, email [email protected] with:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • The URL or file link on Sharey where the material appears
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Counter-notice: If your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address with identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury that removal was mistaken, your contact information, consent to jurisdiction, and your signature. Content may be restored unless the complainant files court action.

Privacy Policy

What We Collect

Sharey collects the minimum information necessary to operate the service:

  • Uploaded content. Files and pastes you submit are stored to serve the share link you receive. Content is deleted automatically when it expires, or immediately if Burn after view is enabled.
  • IP address. Your IP address is logged at upload time for abuse prevention and rate limiting. It is not shared with third parties and is not stored in publicly accessible metadata.
  • Theme preference. A cookie named sharey-theme stores your light/dark preference. It contains no personally identifiable information and is not sent to any server.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No accounts, no registration, no email addresses.
  • No tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or advertising networks.
  • No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind.
  • No cookies beyond the theme preference cookie described above (and a session cookie if you use the admin panel).

Content Storage

Files and pastes are stored on Backblaze B2, a third-party object storage provider. Content is stored encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We do not sell, share, or process your uploaded content beyond what is necessary to serve it at the share link.

Payments

Infrastructure contributions on the Support page are processed by Stripe. Sharey never sees or stores your card details — all payment data is handled directly by Stripe within their PCI-compliant environment. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to that transaction.

Data Retention

Uploaded content is deleted automatically at expiry (between 1 hour and 90 days depending on your selection). Burn-after-view content is deleted the moment it is first accessed. IP logs are not retained beyond the rate-limiting window. There is no backup or archival of user content.

Your Rights

Because Sharey holds no accounts and no personal data beyond transient IP logs, there is nothing to export or correct. If you believe content you uploaded is still present after its expiry date, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it promptly.
